Q: How much does it cost?
A: There is a nominal fee of $100 for the Assessment and Knowledge e-course and a license usage
fee of $225 to access the SEMS™ online planning template. You have with up to six months to use the tools
and create your sustainability planning document. You must complete
both of these components to qualify for SEMS™ Certification.
Q: Are scholarships available?
A: There are a few major corporations and business development organizations that offer supplier
sponsorships to the SEMS™ program. Ask your corporate client if they are willing to sponsor your company.
Q: How long does the training last?
A: You have a license for six months to use the online tool, with the flexibility to complete
the program in 6 days, 6 weeks or 6 months. It all depends on your allocation of resources and how
quickly you need a action plan document.
Q: What if I don’t complete the program?
A: You can’t move to the Ability Level (certification process), without completing
the first two levels (Knowledge and Skills). We highly recommend getting the most
out of the program by assigning a responsible individual in the company to be your
sustainability guru.
Q: Is sustainable development complicated?
A: It can be. However, the two courses are designed to help you understand
how daily choices impact the environment, so you can make organizational changes
as a result of participating in the program.
Q: Can I work at my own pace?
A: Absolutely. Both courses are self-paced and available online 24/7. As
long as you have high-speed internet access, you can work from anywhere in the world.
